Donation Frequently Asked QuestionsWhere should I mail donation checks?
All checks must be attached to a donation form and should be filled out completely. Mail donations to the following address:

Who should I make the check out to?
Have A Chance
Is there a fundraising minimum requirement of $75 to participate?
No. We do not require a fundraising minimum to participate. We ask for a suggested donation of $75 and there is no limit to how much you can raise.
Are donations tax deductible?
Yes, all donations are tax deductible.
Do all donors receive a receipt?
Yes. Anyone who donates online will automatically receive a receipt regardless of the amount. The correct email address must be provided to receive a receipt online. Those who donate $250 or more will receive a copy of the receipt in the mail. The correct mailing address must be attached to the donation form and/or check.
Can I bring my donations to the walk?
Yes. We encourage you to mail all donations prior to the walk. Donations are processed in a timely manner.
Do you accept cash donations?
No. We do not accept cash donations, we strongly suggest you keep all cash donations and write a personal check or money order.
What can I do if a check is made out to me personally?
You may endorse the back of the check and mail it in with a completely filled out donation form.
Can I send one check to be split amongst several walkers?
Single checks cannot be split amongst multiple participants and are non-transferable.
What is a Matching Gift and how do I apply?
Lots of companies offer a Matching Gift Program. It means when an employee makes a contribution to a non-profit organization, the company will match the same donation amount or more. If your company doesn’t have a Matching Gift Program, contact your human resources department about establishing one.
A donor is requesting a Tax ID number, what is it and how do I get it?
A Tax ID number identifies Have A Chance as a non-profit organization. Many donors request this number to validate their donation as tax deductible. If a donor is requesting this document, please contact us. We’ll email or fax it to you.
Can you provide a sample fundraising and thank you letter?
Yes. Both sample letters can be found under Forms and Posters.
